The Seed of Vocation, Rooted in Prayer and Belief
The priesthood is not merely a career choice—it is a sacred vocation, a divine call planted deep within the soul, often from the earliest years of life. In the heart of a child kneeling at Mass, gazing with wonder at the mystery of the altar, the seed of this call can take root.
As the Church has long taught, lex credendi, lex orandi—what we believe shapes how we pray, and how we pray forms what we believe. A child immersed in the rhythms of the Church’s liturgy, surrounded by reverent prayer, sacred music, and the witness of holy priests, is quietly being formed in both faith and desire. Through this lived prayer, the truths of the faith take hold—not only in the mind, but in the heart.

When a young boy sees the Eucharist lifted high and senses that God is near, when he hears the Scriptures proclaimed and feels drawn to the Word, when he watches a priest lay down his life at the altar in love for the Church—something eternal is awakened. In these moments, belief and worship intertwine, and the call to the priesthood often begins to stir.

Thus, nurturing priestly vocations begins not in seminaries, but in homes and parishes where children are taught not just doctrine, but prayer; where the liturgy is not rushed or routine, but sacred and alive.
